🌟 Ensure perfect suppressor alignment and flawless barrel threading with this precision guide rod!
When threading a barrel or mounting a suppressor (suppressor/silencer), perfect concentricity is absolutely critical. Even a fraction of a millimeter of misalignment can lead to catastrophic baffle strikes and ruin your suppressor.
This tool is designed to act as a precision alignment and threading guide for 5/8x24 threads on .357 / 9mm calibers. It ensures your threading tool or suppressor sits perfectly concentric to the bore.
Standard bore rod diameter is set for .357 , but it is fully customizable!
✨ Key Features:
-
Perfect Alignment: Eliminates guesswork and prevents devastating baffle strikes by ensuring absolute concentricity.
-
Dual-Purpose Tool: Excellent as both a cutting guide during the live threading process and a verification rod for final suppressor mounting.
-
Fully Parametric & Customizable: The upload includes the original FreeCAD source file (.FCStd). If you need a different bore diameter (e.g., .223, .308, .45), you can easily open the file and adjust the dimensions to fit your specific barrel!
📦 Included Files:
-
.STL file – Ready to print for standard .357 bores with 5/8x24 or other thread projects.
-
.FCStd file – Original FreeCAD 3D project file for easy customization and remixing.
🖨 Print Settings for Maximum Precision: To ensure this guide functions as a true precision tool, follow these settings:
-
Material: PLA+ or PETG (PLA is preferred here for its rigidity, preventing any flex during alignment checks).
-
Layer Height: 0.2 mm or 0.16 mm (Lower layer height ensures smoother surfaces and better concentricity).
-
Infill: 50% to 100% (Straight lines or Gyroid) for maximum stiffness.
-
Wall/Perimeters: 4 to 6 perimeters (Crucial to make the rod completely rigid).
-
Orientation: Print it vertically with a generous Brim (8-10mm) to ensure it doesn't wobble or detaching from the bed during printing.
⚠ Disclaimer: This is a 3D-printed tool meant for alignment checks and hand-tool guiding. Always verify your prints with calipers before using them on high-precision tasks.
💡 If you modify this file for another caliber, please post a Remix! And if it saved your suppressor, don't forget to upload a Make and hit the Like button! ❤
