My coworker gave me a challenge. Here's how it happened:
- He showed me this Issac Carlton video “I Made a Movie With The World's Smallest Camera”
- He said he got one from the amazon link “Mini Keychain Camera, 1080P 2MP Mini Thumb Sized Camera Keychain, Micro Video Camera Camcorder, with 100 Mins Battery Life, for Students, Kids”
- He also said he wanted some way to mount the camera to his tripod.
- He did not have the camera with him and he was going to bring it the next day.
Funny enough, I had the exact tripod he has. I used the photos from a reviewer and those provided by the seller to reverse engineer the camera in SolidWorks, good enough to design a mount that would not impede the functionality of the camera itself. I printed the mount in 2 separate halves and used a ¼-20 nut inside as both the threads for the tripod and alignment for gluing the pieces together.
The next day, he mentioned that he was going to resort to a piece of foam just before I plopped this attachment in front of him. It fit perfectly! It even fits in the camera pouch along with the camera. Now you have the ability to do the same!
