Rotating spoon-This support is designed to help individuals with minor tremors and weak grip strength to use a spoon independently during meals. The support is designed with an integrated spherical joint that enables self-balancing to alleviate minor tremors.
Note: This is a prototype device, and the testing it has undergone is limited. Use at your own risk.
Please provide feedback on its effectiveness and help improve this device!!!!
Thank you to the nursing staff of the Tuoro Infirmary for coming up with this brilliant idea.
Printing instructions
PETG:
It is recommended to print the axes separately and use a 4-layer wall.
Other PETG parts are printed according to the standard settings.
TPU:
All TPU parts are printed with a 6% infill rate to obtain a flexible strap.
The glove and the strap receiver need support.
Note: The shell and TPU accessories are compatible with the "Multifunctional Handle" device.
Assembly instructions
Apply a small amount of strong glue in the groove at the top of the PETG "shell", then insert the TPU "spokes" and fix them in the top groove.
Remove the support at the bottom of the shaft ball joint to release the joint, then screw in the "shell". Make sure the end of the shaft passes through the middle of the "spokes".
Cut off the end of the heavy spoon and leave a handle of about 1.5-2 inches. Bend the handle slightly so that when it is installed
Screw the spoon and cutlery assembly into the receiver at the top of the "shaft". This might be a bit tricky. I found the easiest way is to use one finger to hold the shaft on the side of the casing, then screw in the cutlery.
Slide in the accessories as needed.
