I love Aikoly's design, but it takes a really long time to print… so I modified the original to remove the extruded honeycomb pattern and used modifiers to add it back in the slicer. It cuts 90-120 minutes off the print time.
Each spool requires 2 parts: 1 top and 1 bottom (A for up to 100g or B for up to 200g).
Slicer Instructions
- Load the model for the top or bottom part with two modifiers:
- top-no-pattern.stl with top-inside-modifier.stl and top-outside-modifier.stl
- bottom-a-no-pattern.stl with bottom-inside-modifier.stl and bottom-outside-modifier.stl
- bottom-b-no-pattern.stl with bottom-inside-modifier.stl and bottom-outside-modifier.stl
- Make sure both modifiers are sitting flat on the build plate and centered on the part.
- Set the print parameters for each modifier:
- Fill density: 15%
- Fill pattern: Honeycomb
- Bottom solid layers: 0
- Top solid layers: 0
Print Parameters
- Layer height: 0.2mm
- First layer height: 0.2mm
- Nozzle diameter: 0.4mm
- Fill density: 10%
NOTE: My print settings are derived from Prusa's 0.20mm SPEED default. Settings derived from a different profile may not produce the time savings mentioned above.
