Introduction:
Over a year ago, I designed a similar item for my girlfriend, and inside I placed a finger rosary. For a moment she looked surprised, because she thought I was proposing (and we hadn’t been together for very long), but then she saw it was just a rosary. Recently, I decided to improve the design and make it available to a wider audience. You can use it to give your partner a ring or something else entirely — it can even be a way to propose. There are many possibilities. So far, I’ve designed five hearts. The opening mechanism is similar to that of matryoshka dolls (even though they aren’t a symbol of my country, I did hold one in my hands as a child, and I was always fascinated by how they were made). I’m also attaching the Fusion 360 files I used to design them. The parts fit together quite tightly so they don’t fall apart, which means some printers may require adjustments to the model. If anything is unclear, I’m happy to help in the comments.I’m sending the fifth heart (heart1) as well, although the parts don’t fit together perfectly — they fall apart, but maybe after slightly shrinking one or enlarging the other, it will work. I'm still working on fifth heart. In the future, I’ll try to add more hearts for those who feel that five isn’t enough. Of course, you can print fewer of them depending on your preference.
Print settings:
Layer height: 0.2
Infill: 100%
Brim style: Inner brim only
Brim separation gap: 0.2
Supports settings from: https://www.printables.com/model/272542-best-prusa-mk3ss-support-settings-for-prusaslicer
Style: Snug
Top contact Z distance: 0.25
Pattern spacing: 3
Top interface layers: 4
Interface loops: ✓
Support on build plate only: ✓
XY separation between an object and its support: 75%
All other settings I took from 0.20mm QUALITY profile for Prusa MK3S (but for other printers you can use other profiles)
I recommend printing the model in the same orientation as in the files, because this way the outer part of the heart will look nice, while the inner part will be slightly less clean due to the supports (and not the other way around, which would make the inside look better than the outside). I printed my hearts alternately using red Colorfil PLA and pink Elegoo PLA.
