Rigol DP832A-Compatible Replacement Knob

This is a knob designed similar to the OEM knob found on the Rigol DP832A. It's not exact, but it's close enough that if you're looking for a replacement (because yours is maybe damaged or missing), this should do nicely.

Print Instructions

Print in the orientation presented. No supports should be needed. A layer height of 0.15 is recommended, but not a requirement. Try this with a concentric bottom pattern for maximum aesthetics.

I printed this out of Hatchbox Natural PETG which gives it a color that's pretty similar to the hardware it goes on.

Dimensions

The knob is designed to fit on a 6mm D-shaft and has an outer diameter of about 26mm. The overall height is about 15 mm tall. There are twelve ribs around the knob which are similar to the original knob and will allow twirling the knob with your finger tip.

How It's Made

This was designed entirely in FreeCAD 1.1.1 using reference photos of the original knob as my equipment was missing the knob. STEP file is provided for further modification/remixing in your CAD software of choice.
