I needed a way to get hair accessories out of bathroom drawers and keep them away from the dogs, so I put together this modular hook system. It mounts cleanly to the inside of cabinet doors, walls, or wardrobes.
The design is completely modular, so you can customize the storage rack to fit whatever vertical space you have available.
Features
Expandable: The design uses a Top piece, a Bottom piece, and repeatable Middle segments. Print as many Middle segments as you need for your desired length. The 7-hook version in the photos is roughly 80 cm long.
Simple Assembly: The pieces connect using small 3D-printed alignment pegs.
Versatile: The curved hooks are designed for thick scrunchies and hair ties, but they also work for jewelry, cables, lanyards, belts, or keys.
Printing Instructions
Orientation: Print the main segments lying flat on their sides. This ensures maximum structural strength along the layer lines so the wall hooks do not snap under load.
Supports: Required. Use supports for the overhanging hook sections.
Material: PLA works great for indoor closet organization.
Infill: 15% to 20% is plenty.
Assembly & Mounting
Remove all support material from the printed hooks.
Add glue to the holes of both pieces.
Insert two joining pegs into the holes of your first piece.
Slide the next segment onto the pegs. Press firmly to close the seam, and repeat until you reach your final length, finishing with the end caps.
To mount, apply double-sided mounting tape (like 3M Command Strips or VHB tape) along the flat back of the assembled organizer and press it firmly against a clean cabinet door or wall.
