This is a design to allow the Phillips Hue Lightswitch remote to cover an existing light switch. This prevents people from accidentally turning off smart lights and puts the remote in a spot where it would be expected.

The magnets that are used to hold the remote in place were removed from the switch cover that came with the remote using a flat head screwdriver. I do not recommend applying a heat gun to the magnets as it will weaken their magnetic field.
