After relying on other people's designed models, I decided to try creating a cable winder to suit specific needs that I could print with my current skills.
I wanted a design that avoids stretching cables by twisting them in the middle and winds different types of cables, disregarding their connectors. Another consideration was to avoid print-in-place because I'm struggling to get good results with my current printer and skills.
In my case, a simpler approach was to create three pieces that fit together with a notch and hole that only requires the cable to go into the winder while keeping the connectors out of it.
I was inspired by @mrusk's Next Gen USB (and more) Cable Winder / Organizer (Print-in-Place, Multiple Sizes, Stackable).
My original design is in Onshape's public space; you can find it here.
Printing
For the ones in the photos, I used PLA with a .4mm nozzle and .16mm layer, no support and 25% gyroid infill (which might have been too much).
