Summary
Note this was designed for a Raspberry Pi 4.
This is a stackable case design for housing multiple Raspberry Pi's. You could use this case if you were building a cluster of Raspberry Pi's for use with Kubernetes.
You add as many layers as you like, and even expand later if you add more Raspberry Pi's to your cluster.
This design only includes the parts for the case proper and not the parts for the Ethernet switch, USB charger (used to supply power to the Pi's), or accessory mounting brackets.

Materials and Printing Instructions
These are the files for:
- the bracket for the Pi [pi_bracket.stl]
- the top cover [case_cover.stl]
- fan fan bracket (attaches to GPIO pins) [fan_bracket.stl]
- black spacers (2 sizes) [long_spacer.stl short_spacer.stl]
- back top caps [top_caps.stl]
- black bottom feet [bottom_feet.stl]
Note:
this does not include the files for the 8 port Trendnet switch or the 6 port USB RavPower charger as they will only fit if you get that exact type of hardware.
You will also need:
- 30 mm x 2.5M brass standoffs (qty 4 times number of Pi's)
- 4 mm x 2.5M brass standoffs (qty 4)
- 2.5M nuts (qty 4)
- 5 mm x 2.5M screws (qty 4 times number of Pi's)
- 25 mm x 25 mm x 6 mm fans (qty same number of Pi's)
Note:
I purchased the official Raspberry Pi Case Fans ($5.00) and then removed the fan from the included bracket

print the desired quantity of:
- Pi brackets (no support needed)
- fan brackets (no support needed)
- longer black spacers (4 times (number of Pi's - 1))
Note:
The longer spaces are for all layers except the top most layer.
then print:
- 1 top cover (pay attention to the orientation, so that you don't need supports)
- 4 shorter black spacers
- 4 black top caps (print these upside-down, you shouldn't need supports)
- 4 black bottom feet (pay attention to orientation, so that you don't need supports)
Notes:
Print the spacers, top caps & bottom feet standing vertically (not laying horizontally)
The 4 shorter spacers are for between the top most pi and the top cover
Assembly - Work your way from the bottom up:
- Attach Heat Sinks to each Pi
- Screw each Pi into it's bracket with the 5mm screws
- Place the fans into the fan brackets
- attach fan brackets to each Pi's GPIO pins (I used pins 13/14 thru 33/34)
- attach the fan's connecting wires to pins 4 (5v), 6 (Gnd) & 8 (GPIO #14)
- then starting from the bottom, assemble the bottom feet and 4 mm brass standoffs
- put the screw portion of the standoffs through the holes in the Pi Bracket "arms"
- screw in a 30 mm brass standoff and put the longer spacers on the standoffs.
- repeat steps 7 and 8 for each Pi
- on the 30 mm brass standoffs for the last (top most) Pi, use the shorter spacers.
- place the cover on the threads of the last set of brass standoffs
- place the nut inside the top caps and attach to the remaining threads that protrude through the top cover.
Note:
To keep the top caps from falling off, apply a small amount of glue.
