I designed this modular tray system to gently dry rose petals from my garden, and the results were fantastic! It inspired me to share this design with the community so you can also get more out of your hardware.
This insert turns the Creality Space Pi into a perfect multi-purpose tool for your workshop or craft room. The perforated design of the trays and side walls ensures optimal airflow across all four levels, promoting even and efficient drying.
Use it for:
Drying flowers and herbs: Preserve beautiful botanicals while maintaining their color and fragrance.
Recharging silica gel: Dry multiple silica gel bags or loose beads at once.
Drying small parts: Quickly and gently dry small 3D prints, painted components, or other delicate items.
...and anything else that requires low-temperature drying!
Printing Instructions:
Material: PETG is strongly recommended. PLA has a low glass transition temperature and will likely warp or deform, even at the dryer's lowest setting. PETG provides the necessary heat resistance for this application.
Supports: None required! The design is optimized for a support-free print.
Layer Height: 0.2mm is recommended for a good balance of speed and quality.
Infill: 15-20% is sufficient.
How to Use:
Print all parts in PETG.
Assemble the trays within the side walls.
Place the unit inside your Creality Space Pi.
Important: For delicate items like flowers, set the dryer to its lowest temperature (45°C) and prop the lid slightly open to allow moisture to escape.
For more robust items like silica gel, you can use the appropriate temperature settings.
