This is a reworking of https://www.printables.com/model/948066-penrose-tiling-based-on-flippable-triangles-with-h with a slightly different approach. That link has more details. The tiles are the same size, but incompatible. I have improved the snap taps to make them less likely to break.
There are two triangular pieces, corresponding to kite and dart halves. They can be fitted together to form complete kites and darts, or used as half pieces around the boundaries. The edges internal to kites and darts slide together and hold very well once in place. They can be separated, but should be assembled before tiling.
I printed these tiles in black on the bottom and red on the top by switching the filament. This results in a checkered tiling when assembled.
There is a bump and notch to keep the halves from sliding and it requires some pressure to move over the bump. Darts are harder to assemble than kites due to their small size, and I have provided an optional tool to make this easier. After sliding up to point where you feel resistance, you can put the tile in this frame and continue to push the higher side flush with the lower.


The base holds the tip at a 72° angle when pushed together, preventing breakage than can happen against a flat surface (I tried this first).


Once kites and darts are assembled, they can be snapped together. In my color scheme, the black half should enter from slightly above the red half when fitting together. These snaps are intended to be stronger than the previous version but will probably wear out with snapping and unsnapping. A stronger material than PLA may help but I haven't tried.
Be careful when disassembling tilings that you do not pull them apart with too much force. The slide connectors may break if you pull instead of sliding.
