A 3d model of the tetrahedron made in fusion 360. There is both STL and a STEP file of the tetrahedron. The tetrahedron is the lowest platonic solid and is essentially a pyramid with a base of a triangle instead of a square. What is a platonic solid you ask? Oh. You didn't ask. Well too bad. A platonic solid is a convex (meaning no angles above 180) three-dimensional shape with all identical faces. Fun facts about platonic solids: 1. There are only 5 platonic solids in existence. To be clear, it is not that we only know about 5; we know for a fact there can only be 5 in existence from mathematical proofs that are way too complicated for me to explain here. These five are the tetrahedron, hexahedron (better known as the cube), octahedron, icosahedron, and dodecahedron. 2. Three of the five platonic solids are made of triangles. These are the tetrahedron, octahedron, and icosahedron while the hexahedron is of course made of squares and the dodecahedron is made of pentagons.
I hope you enjoyed my fun facts and my model, thank you!
