The local degenerates like to pry open my mailbox. This replaces the metal ‘tongue’ part that came with the default lock. It's worth noting, you can buy replacement mailbox locks at the hardware store. I prefer this plastic tongue version over the replacement locks, because this plastic version usually breaks cleanly, and won't deform the metal mailbox.   

I don't know the brand name of the mailbox, but the lock tongue goes around a square post. (This part still works as long as there's at least 1 corner of that square post left).
