This is a custom-designed 3D-printed casing for the DemoMod and manometer on the DeLonghi Dedica espresso machine, based on the excellent tutorial by OverTinkerer on YouTube.
The original model featured in the tutorial worked well, but I wasn’t fully satisfied with the casing details — particularly around fit and attachment. So, I decided to redesign the casing from scratch to improve precision and usability.
Improvements:
- Accurate Manometer Fit: Added detailed spacing for the manometer clips, allowing the gauge to snap securely into place.
- Potentiometer Alignment Pin: Included a slot for the small anti-rotation pin on the potentiometer, so the knob doesn’t twist out of position.
- Secure Mounting with Screws: Added two M4 screw holes for a much more stable attachment.
The case includes pockets for M4 nuts, which are held in place inside the casing. Screws can be inserted from the inside of the Dedica’s housing. You have to drill some more holes in the Dedica to use these. If thats not for you, there is still plenty of surface are for stickytape.
Print Settings & Orientation
Printed with the front face on the build plate.
There is a slight overhang on the top edge, but it’s on the inside of the casing, so not visible after installation.
Printed without supports – surface imperfections are minor and purely cosmetic.
Future Improvements / Remix Ideas
I won’t be developing this model further, but feel free to remix or optimize it for your setup.
A few ideas:
- Angle the manometer slightly upward for a better viewing angle. (Currently, you need to tilt your head slightly to see the full dial.)
- Add an extra screw hole on the back for better stability if your machine’s outer casing isn’t perfectly flat.
This redesign gives a much more precise, sturdy, and professional installation for your DeLonghi Dedica DemoMod setup.
