Description
This mount is useful for hanging your PC under your height adjustable desk to keep cable lengths constant. WARNING: It lacks lateral stabilization, so it can swing a bit and will break if you want to break it.
A worst case estimation of the tensile strength yielded 70kg for each of the 4 mounting segments.
Bill of materials
The required number of printed parts is also given in the STL filenames.
- 2x Top brackets left
- 2x Top brackets right
- 4x Bottom brackets
- 20x Clips
Besides the printed parts. You'll need:
- 3x 1m long wall rail for shelves (see picture)
- 12x 3.5mmx20mm wood screws with tapered head
Construction
- Cut 2 rails in half to have 4 symmetrical 0.5m long rails
- Cut the remaining rail to obtain 2x 22.5cm rails
- Assemble the 2 U-shaped swings by using the clips which slide over the brackets to secure the connection (see pictures)
- Screw the swing under your desk while keeping the rails parallel
Filament type and print settings
- I suggest using PETG because it is quite strong but more importantly flexible. Do not use PLA because of creep and because it is brittle.
- Use 4 or better 5 perimeters, 4 or better 5 top and bottom layers and 40% infill.
