Long story short - we're collecting and donating our bottle caps at work. After the drawer and later the bowl we used to collect them were overflowing, I thought we'd need an appropriate container to fit a lot of them.
The scale on the side has 250 ml increments (unlabled), the volume at the end of the scale is about 2.5 litres. For anyone that's interested: that's about 500 bottlecaps total and 50 per increment.
The top screws on and sits flush on both the inside and the outside. The tolerances are pretty high, so you shouldn't run into any problems on lower quality profiles. Feel free to use the attached print files, but be warned that it will take nearly two full days. If available, use a bigger nozzle than .4 mm.
I added the OpenSCAD file to allow for customization. It's not really commented yet, but the variable names should be self-explanatory. I used the threads library from rcolyer to create the threads.
