I present Overhang, My entry for the 2024 3D Printing Industry Awards Trophy Design competition. 

This design challenge was very interesting. There were doable constraints but in the design brief it said that no designs that looked like trophies have one. This was confusing for me because how could you have a trophy competition without a trophy wining?

I started bouncing ideas off the walls. Eventually I realized that there were tons of amazing organic and voronoi designs and honestly I do not have the skills and understanding to make those. Then I went to the basics of cad, Sketches, Rectangles, and Extrusions. This simple yet elegant and interesting design is inspired by its name. It fully embraces and celebrates what is found in those basics and in overhangs.
