Extruder for i3 style china 3D printers.
Why? Because you need:
- direct E drive (faster & more precise printing)
- geared E drive (avoids heat transfer from motor)
- precise X (3 plastic wheels on ALU are not precise enough)
- BL Touch (large bed warps a lot, works for glass beds)
- E3D Volcano (faster printing)
- 5015 fan (faster printing)
- simple design (no more printer turning or complex disassembly)
This extruder is designed for MGN12H rail mounted on the front of ALU 2020. Belt is on top and bottom with metal clips on ends.
Provided STL is for Geeetech A30 with Volcano.
You need:
- MGN12H rail on X axis
- BL Touch
- BMG dual drive extruder
- E3D Volcano
- 5015 eccentric fan
You can use original E motor (39 mm) or you can buy a pancake one. Fan shroud is borrowed from
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2819851
but it will be changed in future for easier printing and usage. It has to be printed in ABS/ASA/PC to withstand high temperatures. Use brim 5-10 mm.
Source codes are available so you can modify it for your printer. Some parameters don't work properly and some values are hardcoded. The goal is to keep everything in one piece. You have to place supports under BL touch holder but still it is printed faster with less material used. Fan shroud mount uses square M3 nuts to allow fine height adjustment. Tower on side is for cable fixture and two holes are for extruder board (Geeetech A30). You have to move X axis endstop because of the rail. You can find possible solution here:
