Hypercube Evolution is the 3D printer I’m currently building. The original design uses optical switches, which, of course, are a high-tech choice—precise, futuristic, even somewhat majestic. But… I happen to have microswitches lying around, and they’re so cheap it almost feels like a crime not to use them! So why not design my own setup and make them fit perfectly into my build?

It’s like some people adding pineapple to their pasta (don’t ask me why), while I choose microswitches. Not because optical switches are bad, but because this little tweak makes my design more suited to my needs!
