I created a diskworld cake for a friends wedding. (no I am not a chef, this is only the second cake I have ever made, my friend just likes to torment me with bizarre challenges) As part if this I needed a stencil for the flan top part, so I created this map of Diskworld stencil.

Once it was used for the cake, not liking to throw anything away, I realised that the stencil made a cool wall art and talking point.

Having only once ever made a cake in my life I decided to keep things, at least in the baking part, simple.

Both the flan base and artuins body are simple sponge cakes using the recepe at youtube videos at the bottom

The flan, was coloured blue (food colouring) so that the sea would look bluer.

I then printed the above map (having taken a map found via google search, simplifying it using painshop pro, then importing it into inkscape to convert it from a black and white picture into a contour line. and then saving it into blender to thicken.

I placed the stencil on the flan and dusted with sugar, and filled the shape with Strawberries.

I then coated the strawberries with chocolate and let it dry.

Using a clay modeling tool I then scraped out the bottom of the oceans, and removed some of the chocolate where it had pooled.
I then filled with Blue Jelly (clear jelly with LOTS of blue food colouring)

The body is just a 30 cm cake using the same sponge recipee as the flan.
It is covered with marshmellow fondant and painted with food colouring

Artuins shell, head, limbs and tail are simply just fondant shaped and painted

Yes those were the intended colurs of Artuin, if you notice on the final image below, I had an accidental colouring explosion, when I had green and red die on my hands and I laid the shell over Artuins body.

JFYI the Elephants are wood and are some Elephants that another friend had made in Gambia for the cake.
