The ERCF Smart Filament Motion Sensor is neat, and I wanted to mount it on my SV06. To this end, I designed a mount to attach it to the extruder assembly, taking advantage of existing screw holes.

I replaced the original 2x countersunk 4mm M3 screws with 2x 12mm M3 screws.

In a complete lack of judgement, I designed v1 of the model with built-in support for the M5 nuts, but you can just print the object laying on the opposite face instead. Thanks, brain. :)

  • Uses ~20% less filament.
  • Closer fit on the M5 nuts.
  • Mount is no longer flush against the hotend housing, potential heat creep/transfer should be less likely.
  • Arguably more aesthetic. ;)
