I saw a contest and thought - Oh! I've been working on something relevant.

Anyway. One of the people at Make and Mend has been itching to make use of their scrap fabrics, and wants to do a hexagonal quilt with the paper templates. But also doesn't want to waste fabric.

So! Scalable hexagonal templates with a border it is. The inner hexagon is to cut out the paper, and the outer is for the fabric. It turns out you don't need a large border for the old fashioned hexagon quilts, your hand stitches are supposed to be tiny, tiny little things.

I've included a 10mm one for scaling up to whatever size you need, and a 50mm one as a small starter one.

In the pictures; I've scaled one up to 100mm, but took the height (z) down afterwards to 3mm. And printed a 50mm one and a 10mm one for fun. (The 10mm one has since wound up on someone's earring, as of typing this!)
