Small, removable, Under-desk Drawer

This is a fairly small drawer (142 x 142mm internal) designed to be attached to the bottom of standing desks, or anything else really.

Of note are the bump-stops in the bracket which hold it firmly in place when fully pushed in, and keep you from accidentally pulling it all the way out.

Printing notes

Be sure to print the bracket in the orientation shown in the combo-plate screenshot. This is important so that the bump stop tabs bend along layer lines instead of across them. Tree supports are strongly recommended over normal supports.

You’ll want to print the handle in the orientation shown to avoid it needing supports.

Attaching the handle.

The handle is designed to be attached via M3x6 countersunk bolts, through the front wall of the drawer, and M3H4 heatset inserts in the handle. That being said, using cyanoacrylate glue (Krazy-glue) should work just fine.

Attaching the bracket to your desk

The holes are countersunk but not designed for any particular screw size. Be careful to use something whose threads aren’t going to cut into the print. It’ll cause it to split. If you hear it crack, stop immediately. While there are eight holes, I only used four to attach mine.

Cutting a Liner

If you’d like to cut a bottom insert to size as I have, the drawer is 142mm square on the inside. The inner corners have a 6mm radius. Leather is good if you’re going to be rolling dice in it.
