The release catch for the hose assembly on my Dyson DC39 Animal broke and this is not something that can be purchased as a replacement, instead a whole new hose would have been required.
I instead set about designing my own replacement part. keeping the design as close as possible to the original, while making a minor improvement for lateral strength.
