Hi, I couldn’t find a decent hinge tolerance test for print-in-place hinges, so I made one myself. This test is great if you want to model your own hinges but don't know what size of the gap you need.
Feel free to use and modify it yourself.
The gap varies between 0.1mm to 0.5mm in both horizontal and vertical positions.
I was using my Ender V3 KE and got great results for 0.2mm and 0.3mm gaps in both directions. 0.1mm didn’t work, and 0.4mm and above were too loose.
I used 15% grid infill, a 0.4mm nozzle, and a 0.12mm layer height (using supports). For horizontal (laying on its back) hinges, I designed it in such a way that you don’t need supports—only for vertical hinges to separate the middle part of the hinge.
