Summary
This is to utilize some of the V-shaped led strip channels from a previous project. The V-shaped channel can hold the common 10mm LED strips. But for better visual effect (continuous color bars instead of individual LED), it's better to use > 90LED/meter strips. However, the 144LED/m strip is usually 12mm. So this means, best fit would be something like 96 or 100 LED/m. In my build, a a meter channel can be installed and the stand can hold it on a flat surface (e.g. hardwood floor) without the need of additional weight.
If you intend to direct the light towards the wall instead, perhaps a strip with fewer LEDs would still work fine.

The vertical holder provides two gaps to install the L-brackets that comes with the channel (check the attached photos). One can pre drill for half a millimeter for the screws to be fastened to the plastic. The channel should snap into place. The gaps should hold the brackets in opposite directions..
