Summary
A clean and practical 3D-printable wall mount for TP-Link Deco mesh Wi-Fi units, originally designed and physically tested with the TP-Link Deco S7.
The mount securely holds the Deco while keeping the device accessible, well ventilated, and neatly installed on the wall.
Compatibility
✅ Tested
- TP-Link Deco S7
📐 Dimensionally Compatible
The following models share the same approximately 90.7 × 90.7 mm footprint and should be dimensionally compatible with the holder:
- TP-Link Deco M4
- TP-Link Deco E4
The internal width of the mount is approximately 92.16 mm, providing a small amount of clearance around the 90.7 mm Deco body for easy installation and removal.
Note: Deco S7 has been physically tested. M4 and E4 compatibility is based on published external dimensions and similar enclosure geometry. Hardware revisions may differ, so please check your device before printing.
Cable Management
The mount includes dedicated cable-routing openings underneath the device:
- 4 × Ethernet cable openings
- 1 × power cable opening
The openings allow cables to be routed downward through the mount instead of being tightly bent or trapped between the Deco and the wall.
The additional Ethernet openings also make the design flexible for different Deco models and network configurations.
Ventilation
The bottom of the mount features an open ventilation area to maintain airflow around the underside of the Deco.
The design intentionally avoids enclosing the device, helping preserve the airflow intended by the original enclosure.
Wall Installation
The mount is designed to be securely attached to the wall using a single countersunk screw.
Recommended Mounting Hardware
- 1 × 4 × 30 mm countersunk head screw
- 1 × 6 × 30 mm nylon wall plug, suitable for 4 mm screws
- 6 mm masonry drill bit for installing the wall plug
This mounting hardware is suitable for typical installation on concrete, brick, or masonry walls.
The countersunk mounting hole allows the screw head to sit neatly within the rear mounting plate.
Important: Wall materials vary. For drywall, plasterboard, hollow brick, or other hollow wall constructions, use an appropriate wall anchor specifically designed for that material.
Printing
Designed for FDM 3D printing.
Suitable materials include:
- PLA
- PETG
- ABS
- ASA
PETG is a particularly good choice if you want a little additional flexibility and impact resistance.
The design uses rounded transitions and an open structure to provide a good balance between strength, material usage, airflow, and appearance.
Design Philosophy
This model was created as a practical solution for keeping Deco mesh units securely mounted, cables organized, and networking equipment off desks and floors.
I am sharing this model freely with the 3D-printing and networking community so that anyone who finds it useful can print it, improve it, remix it, and adapt it to their own setup.
If you successfully use the mount with another Deco model or hardware revision, feel free to share your results so the compatibility information can be expanded for other users.
