Traditional Woodworking Marking Gauge
Used to mark a line parallel to the edge at a fixed distance. Used in joinery and cabinet making.
Traditional designs generally have a sharp point to scribe the line, I have designed this to hold a pencil.
Marked in mm along the top to aid in selecting distance. Print the last couple of layers in a contrasting colour to show the markings.
Threaded bolts grip the pencil and allow adjustment of the guide. When I printed the model, the small bolt holding the pencil is a little tight, could try scaling on the x and y axes by 90%.
Printed well in PLA, no supports, 2 layer walls, 10% infill. Feels sturdy. Adjust the pencil so that the lead is just showing and the marking gauge works well.
