Description
Introduction
I enjoy creating "escape room"-style puzzle games for our scout team, and I'm currently working on a physics-based puzzle where the puzzle is unlocked if you set a specific time. This is the approach I've come up with.
Building instructions
Print one of each part. You may find that printing the dial at a 45-degree angle from the baseplate can reduce the amount of support material and improve the surface smoothness.
You also need an M3
Put the three dials into the clock face. They should be able to fit into each other and move independently. The 'gear-like' shape should also pass through the clock face.
Align the groove on the dial so that it is aligned with the 9 on the clock face.
According to the required "unlocking time", first place the second hand, then the minute hand, and finally the hour hand on the gears. Use a 3mm screw to fix the hour hand to lock the entire device together.
Now, when you place the base in position and align the large hole with the 9 on the clock face, you should be able to insert the "key" and adjust the time to lock the container.
Disclaimer
This design is not very secure. Once the mechanism is understood, it may be cracked. This is just a "first version". Although it still works, there is still much room for improvement.
