Replacement bottom hinge piece for the dust cover/lid on Yamaha TT‑S303 / VINYL 500 / TT‑N503 turntables. This is intended as a drop-in substitute for the commonly broken original part. You will need the axle, "piston" and spring from the original(broken) hinge!

Printing recommendations (important)

• No supports needed.

• Material: PETG or better (ASA/ABS/PC/Nylon also suitable).

  • I don't recommend using PLA — it will deform and/or crack very quickly from stress as the spring is fairly strong.

• Infill: 100% (solid) for maximum strength.

• Use a brim (as shown in the picture/orientation) to improve bed adhesion.

Fit / post-processing note: Check the hole for the axle and open it up a little with drill if needed It does not need to be tight fit. Even the original Yamaha hinge tends to deform over its lifetime, so depending on your dust cover and turntable tolerances you may need a little hand fitting. If it feels tight or doesn’t sit perfectly, chamfer the inner edge (small bevel on the inside corner) and test-fit gradually until it matches your setup.

When putting it together be carefull and use some kind of padding. Compressing the string need considerable force and you need to fiddle with the axle and match the holes at the same time. Have someone to assist you if possible.
