This is a brass catcher for the 9mm Extar EP9 pistol caliber carbine. It's designed to clamp to the top Picatinny rail. Holds about 70 shell casings. Included are the STL files for the body, end plate, and sliding cover. I'll add the Picatinny rail mount pieces later.
The design is definitely a work in progress. I'm putting the design up becaue r/extar users are interested. I printed the test articles in PLA+, 4 walls, 25% infill, and they break on the vertical riser stress points after 500 or so rounds. If you can, print the body in PA-CF6 Nylon or ABS/ASA. Shot recoil is brutal on the thinner elements of the body.
Printing and assembly instructions will follow once the design works. Go read the printing information in Kelsey's model below in the meantime.
You will need 2 M3x35 screws for the Picatinny rail mounts, 3 M3x12 screws for the end plate (or superglue to glue it on), and 5 M3 hexagonal nuts.
Originally based on Kelsey's fantastic Ruger 10/22 shell catcher. I kept the sliding cover and oval shape and used OpenSCAD to rework his original. In the end, it would have been faster to learn Fusion360...
My design is a nearly complete rework. Kelsey reviewed it and gave me permission to list as my original work. If you have a 10/22, go print Kelsey's model. The design does not need supports, looks awesome, and simply rocks.
