These slightly bigger rollers are my attempt to prevent damage to the respooling mechanism.
From what I've found, at least in my case, the transfer of spool pressure from Front-roller on to the Mini-roller at the top most position happens slightly too late. The Font-roller is then being overturned and apply too much torque on the spur and lever gears, which then start to skip gear after a while.
If you hear clicking noise and see the spool twitch while printing, it's because of this.
This then causes the spool to get stuck in upper position or just fall down without rewinding.
Depending on the outer diameter of your spool this might help. Although if you already have these issues, you should reprint the spur gear and lever gear.
I would like to hear from you, if this helped or not. In my case it's working so far, but longer testing is needed
My unit is printed from Polymaker polyterra PLA (not ideal but i like the look), front-rollers are Fillamentum 98A TPU. Printed on Prusa MK3.5S, 0.2mm Structural
Also I'm not using any springs, the gravity itself is enough
Spools that I'm printing with are Polymaker cardboard spools (with and without plastic adapter), Fillamentum PC spool and some others
