Summary
I wanted to make an end cap for our stair rail to be festive and hide some chipped paint. Found the linked file and added a hollow base. To fit my post I expanded the files to 146% of their size before printing. Measure your post.
It has peg holes for 3mm filament but I don't have any, used a metal rod from home depot. Super glued all holes and used a short piece of the cut rod in each hole. Head needs to be shorter rod.
For sizing, I measured the max width of the top of my stair rail ball and then got it close in Cura. You may want to cut the bottom portion in half and print that twice to do a test piece before you print the whole thing. My first attempt did not fit and is now a shelf ornament.

Notes:
I had support on for the roof but the tree support failed. The printer didn't care and finished it just fine so I don't think supports needed.
