This is a solution to repair broken hinges on Technics SL-D1 turntables. This is not a solution for broken acrylic dust cap. It solves troubles with the hinge itself.

Developed and tested for a SL-D1 turntable, but works on SL-D2 and SL-D3 too. May be used on other Technics models at your own risk.

Best print with PETG filament, 55% infill, 5 perimeters, 5 bottom layers and 5 top layers. The base part must be printed with bed supports.

The holes for articulation, may be “repassed” with a 1/8" drill.

The hinge shaft employs a 50 mm length piece, made with stainless steel or brass rod (available in weld material stores). You must cut this rods and grind the ends to avoid cuting edges.

You need two wood screws (3x25 mm) to lock the hinge on place too.

This hinge do not employs springs. After installed, you may open the lid entirely and it will remain in a angle which permits the right position. If you like to play your records without the dust cap, you may remove it without difficult.
