Second iteration of model rocket being designed for an undergrad senior aerospace engineering lab project at UCLA.
Requirements/Goals include:
Two-stage rocket
Vehicle must use commercial solid motors with a combined total impulse < 100 N-s
Aim for maximum apogee possible
Vehicle avionics must include an accelerometer, altimeter, and camera
Second stage must be ignited electronically based off live accelerometer telemetry
Vehicle must carry one Grade A egg (2.2 oz) (With successful recovery)
Reusable
Only one component can be additively manufactured (i.e. 3D-printed)
Total construction cost must be less than $75 (excluding motors and avionics)
All components must be custom fabricated with exception of the motors and avionics
The nose cone must be fabricated out of fiberglass composite
The rocket body must be fabricated out of carbon fiber composite
Construction should be in accordance with the National Association of Rocket (NAR) Model Rocket Safety Code
*All parts are included in the STL file. Separate into objects in slicer if desired.
