From time to time beekeepers need to close the top opening in a Langstroth hive.

The classic move has been to stuff grass in the hole, but it's messy and not very reliable.

I designed a simple easy to use plug, accomplishing the task while also being easy to remove (and cool looking too!).

The plug is dimensioned to fit the opening of a standard inner cover vent. I also designed a turn-down handle that should clear the outer cover of most Langstroth hives, making it easy to insert and extract the plug without disturbing either cover.
