Summary

Snap together kit that holds four slices worth of data storage devices. Perfect for organizing SD cards used for photography or 3D printing.

Parts can be mixed and matched between kit cards for multi color toasters.

This was designed using nothing more than a note pad and Blender. I drew the individual parts in two dimensions and then created some basic 3D models using Blender. Once I had modelled the individual pieces in 3D, I made a number of test prints to check the fitment and I iterated on the design until all of the parts fit well. I then modelled the outer frame a frame with sprues to hold all of the parts to the kit card. I decided to use Blender's geometry nodes feature to create the individual sprues, which wasn't strictly necessary, but made easy to make changes to all of the sprues at once. I played with the sprue settings until the kit card printed well.
