Depending on the model, different degrees of hinge tightness may be required.

For example, the hinges connecting the box and the lid should be quite loose. You need it to be able to rotate freely so that the box is easy to close. But for posable figure models, you need the hinges to be loose enough for easy movement, but also tight enough to maintain their position once they're in place.

You can use this test to calibrate the spacing that best suits your printer, materials, and printing settings.
