These are tokens/counters for tracking +1/+1 and -1/-1 conditions. The design is customizable in case you need other values for some reason, but these are the most common.
I use filament changes to make sure the top layer has the text in a different color.

Pause for filament change before the top layer to make the numbers and border visible. The design is not for single-color but you can do it in most slicers. Try the customizer to change the depth if you can only print one color.
