Like many others, I found that those cheap USB original microscope stands are completely useless.
However, I don't want to spend a lot of money on accessories like rods, so I want to design a more cost-effective solution myself.
I adopted a rack and gear drive design to precisely adjust the height.
Now, I can easily control the height of the microscope with ease, and the whole process is smooth and stable without any shaking. I just need to tighten the shaft sleeve nut and bolts as needed according to my personal needs.
Required materials:
- 3 M3 nuts and bolts, with a length of about 12-15 mm, are used to firmly fix the shaft sleeve, prevent it from sliding on its own, and ensure that the microscope is installed securely.
- The aperture is 3.4 millimeters, which is equivalent to about 1/8 inch
Print settings:
- Enable the support structure.
- The floor height is set to 0.15 millimeters.
- Please refer to the picture for the recommended printing direction.
- If you find that the movement is not smooth enough, you can try to adjust the layer height of the small gear to a smaller value, or improve the printing effect by enhancing the surface quality.
