I spent a while trying to find a low cost waterproof solution to a door sensor for my backyard gate. Due to the fitment of the gate, I couldn't just screw the magnet down to the gate.
After finding a cheap door sensor on amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CG5HB1B6) I was able to fit it into a standard ½" type C PVC conduit body, with pvc caps on either end and stainless straps to hold it down. I designed this mount for the magnet to slide on to the locking lug of the gate door and be the correct height for the sensor inside the waterproof container. The mount has a cut out and a slit that can accommodate an all stainless ½" hose clamp to secure it.
Approx. $30 for hardware and sensor not including consumables (pvc cement, screws, etc.)
I'm including the step file to allow fitment modifications.
