This 3D-printable bracket holds a Heltec WSL together with a 18650 lithium battery inside of a standard 25mm diameter PVC pipe.
The Heltec board is stuck to the bracket with some double-sided foam tape and a bit of kapton tape which can stand some heat outside in the sunshine. The battery fits inside the lower cavity, held by some kapton tape as well.
The bottom cap on the pipe has two holes drilled in it. One to allow air to pass in, which is covered by some netting to keep insects out. The other hole passes some wires to power the device from a 5 volt power source.
The construction is hung from the top cap, which has a hole drilled in it to fit the antenna socket. Hanging from this socket is the bracket, hung with a bit of PET plastic and Kevlar thread.
Just under the top cap 16 small holes have been drilled to let warm air out, creating a passive airflow cooling. Once closed all parts fit snugly and the device can be fixed to a high mounting point.
