This model is for a replacement component for the spool mount assembly that ships in the Elegoo Centauri Carbon - the piece that sits inside the printer. In my case, I am using a Creality filament dryer to house filament that I am printing with. Due to some allergies, I invested in two Elegoo Mini Air Purifiers that I added inside of the printer with the “Elegoo Air Purifier HEPA Filter Attachment” model by @JasonLinderm_3642551 on Printables.com:

My thought was to add these to the inside of the printer in place of a DIY Bento box because the pair of these filters was on sale for under $20 USD at the time. Placing them inside the printer would help clean the air at the source in addition to the other air purification I have in place in my workshop.

Given I wasn’t using the filament spool mount and these Elegoo Mini Air Purifiers are rechargeable but also run when connected to power via USB, I decided to use the opening covered by the spool mount to pass USB cables through to my Mini Air Purifiers.

When designing this, I opted to keep the form factor as close to the Elegoo part I was replacing as I reasonably could. I added a hole in the middle of my model to pass whatever type of cables you might want to pass through it. My use case is two USB cables. Others might do something similar but also want to use it to mount a better webcam inside the printer.

I am not including a plug in this. Instead I would encourage users who make a plug to share it with the community so that others with similar needs can benefit.

Instructions

1. I started by backing out the 4 screws holding the Elegoo part in place.
    

   

2. Put the screws and the Elegoo part “somewhere safe”. You’ll need those screws later.
   1. Note: “somewhere safe” means somewhere where you’ll be able to find them again, as opposed to what I did: misplace them for several hours ripping my workshop apart looking for them only to find them in my pocket.
3. Examine this model once printed. Note that it is rectangular and the orientation you mount it in matters.

4. CAREFULLY fit the model over the four screw mounts inside your printer. These screw mounts stick out somewhere around 10mm and have a diameter of ~ 4.2mm. Treat them with care.
    

   

    

5. Once seated over the screw mounts, check the alignment outside of the printer. The outward facing side of the model has a small lip to help with that.
    

   

6. Inside your printer, the model should look like what you’re seeing in the following picture. Secure it in place using the screws you removed in Step 1. Also keep the original part somewhere safe so that you can easily revert in the future should you choose to.

Notes

• I printed this for my own use using PETG. At the time of writing this, I am only printing with PLA, PLA-CF, PETG, and TPU. It is important that you take your own needs into account when printing this.
