This is a bracket to hold a filament runout switch over a direct drive mod on an ender 3 pro. There are other direct drive runout switch mounts out there but most mount to the bracket that holds the roller for the filament. My printer is fully enclosed and the filament feeds from outside the enclosure, so those just wouldn't work. I made this up to mount it right off the extrusion stepper motor. I'll update if it works. I don't see a reason why this wouldn't work with any printer that did the ebay direct drive mod.
*Edit: If you guys have feedback on this I'd love to hear it. Leave comments, post build pics. I'm starting to learn that the iterative process is my favorite part of designing stuff.
Update: I printed out the first version. It totally works but it’s not elegant. It gets pulled at angle by the filament being drawn in. It still functions but I’d prefer the filament path going in to the extruder be as straight as possible. I think a couple tweaks can fix it. More to follow.
Update2: the new version 'bracketv2' works much better. There's a little interference from my hero me mount but I just dremeled it out. I'd love to fix it digitally, but my 3d file has errors that I haven't been able to fix. Is this a common thing? Is it because I use microsoft 3d builder for everything?

The best orientation for printing is with it lying flat on the build plate. The portion touching the build plate should be the side of the bracket closest to the back of the stepper motor as it is mounted. If that doesn't make sense just flip it around a few times. One orientation definitely makes more sense than the rest.
