Summary
This is a "clip on" mount for the EC board, with an added option for a fan base to keep it cool.
I developed this idea as a way to allow for a simple interchange between the extruder and the Unicorn pen plotter. No more bolting on and bolting off of the controller from one tool to the next.
I have uploaded the stl files of the controller mount and the fan plate, along with the rar file of the SolidWorks assembly.
Instructions
Fabricate the components with a 3D printer and assemble with six M3 by 16mm bolts, six M3 nuts and suitable standoffs.
Simply slide the assembly onto the MakerBot's acrylic z-stage and position it appropriately so it will not obstruct traveling of the Z-stage.
To place the 40mm by 40mm fan, I simply used hot glue.
Note: Printing the controller mount with its maximum surface area on the build platform would result in a faster build time, but the clip would be weaker.
