I made this because the insert in our brightfield microscope had too big of an opening when using small Petri dishes (35 mm). This insert fit like a glove and had a smaller opening for easier use. Note it has a cone shape for free movement of the objectives and a small indentation that stops it from spinning when fitted onto the microscope stage.
