Turn an empty toilet paper roll into a small spool for filament with these end-plates.
Usefull for filament samples and for storing the last scraps on a larger spool.
Also great for other types of wires and threads, like embroidery thread, wires for soldering projects, etc

74mm and 90mm outer diameter versions available. 74mm version pictured with half a TP-roll.

Just take an empty TP roll, print two of these plates, optionally cut it to the required width and then glue the cardboard roll into the groove. Advise not to use a very quick setting glue like CA glues. I used Pattex Repair Gel glue, since that takes a little while to set and properly bonds to both cardboard and PLA.

Prints in about 30 minutes on my Tina2 printer.
Material: Filright Grey PLA
Nozzle: 0.4mm
Layer: 0.2mm
Walls: 3 (1.2mm)
Top/bottom: 6 (1.2mm)

Should print completely solid with these settings.

Features:

• Version 1: 74mm outer diameter, should be printable op practically any 3D printer.
• Version 2: 90mm outer diameter.
• Only 2mm thick.
• Three 2mm holes, one on the inner ring for the start of the filament and two on the outer rim for securing the end of the filament.
• Groove for glueing the cardboard TP roll into the plate.
• Speedholes for conserving filament and faster print speed. 
  Should use approximately 1.25m/4ft of 1.75mm diameter filament for the V1.
  Should use approximately 1.7m/6ft of 1.75mm diameter filament for the V2.
