This is an extension for the threaded filament spool. I wanted to be able to wind more filament, and the spool is already about as wide as my printer can go. So I made it longer instead. This extension adds about 5cm, which was about perfect for my Filawinder.

Thanks to the original author for uploading the CAD files! In the same spirit, I included the 123D file for the extension.

While I used 0.1mm layer height, that was mainly to help test a profile I was using for PETG. I see no reason a taller layer height would cause a problem.

I used a cylinder on the original file and used the intersection operation to remove the rest of the spool. Then merged the threaded center sections back to back to create an extension.

I then subtracted a cone from the middle of the female threaded joint to make it print cleaner without supports.
