This is a shoe mount (like the ones found on top of a still camera for a flash or other accessories) for the HDZero Goggles. It consists of the shoe base which clips on to the fan cover on the goggles, a dovetail which slides quickly in or out of the base to mount or unmount the accessory, a threaded column and tightening collar to secure the dovetail into the base (or loosen to remove), and the accessory holder which screws on to the column. In this case, I provide a microphone holder which has a 16mm diameter clip to hold a microphone. I use a shotgun mic in the photo (model VXR10 by MOVO).
Hardware needed:
1x 3mmx6 socket cap screw, 1x 3mmx8 socket cap screw, 2x 3mm heat set inserts (for a 5.1mm hole 3.8mm deep), and a microphone or other accessory. I use the MOVO VXR10, also a BOYA BY-M110 fits but will need a male female trrs extension.
Every STL file supplied is oriented for the best results in your printer, do not change this or you will likely get failed parts during use. Use a fine layer height (e.g. 0.1mm layer height) for the column and collar prints. The others can be 0.2mm. The base and mic holder will require supports, all others will print without supports. After printing you will find the countersunk holes will require you to push a 3mm drill bit (or screwdriver) through, since I have designed in a thin membrane so supports are not required for the countersinks. The dovetail may require the printed base edge to be manually chamfered post print as elephant foot may make it too tight for the shoe base depending on how much you squish your first layer.

I also include a step file so you can experiment with different accessory holders for other devices you might use, or make any other changes.
Note: When installing the base to the fan cap on the goggles, place all of the base's “feet” into one side of the fan cover all at once and then press down the opposite side until it clips firmly into place. On the underside of the base print is a mating image of the HDZero logo on top of the fan cap, this helps the base to lock in tightly. Be sure to move the base forward enough on the fan cap so that the forwardmost “feet” enter the last outermost holes on the fan cap sides, otherwise the base wont fit properly. Look carefully at the photos to see where the base is properly installed.
Another note: I use this for my mics to get much better ambient audio on my flights. Leaving the mic too close to the loud side fans of the goggles (such as just plugging a small mic and leaving it on the underside) largely ruins the sound imo. Especially with a condenser omni style mic which will eventually only pick up the fan sound once the goggles get warm from running awhile.
